I
Courage Dear Heart,
Fear no wild worldly woe!
Before dazzling Cathedrals
Were catacombs,
Dark dreary—yet full of life!
Caverns of persecution
Martyrs and burials
Quiet and subdued
but beautiful in praise!
From them new birth–new life!
Now journey through electric caverns!
Dark and damp
Amid icy arrows and darkness death
Who can live this murky muck?
Or make order of these silicon bricks–
of sunken stone–uncobbled and unstacked?
II
Awake Beloved Church!
Even stones will stack and stare
Gifting block and glass as one.
Let windows’ light protrude!
Live on! Live on!
Wake dreary eyelids;
Pupils unfixed–
Drawn to Easter light.
Now carve and code
Your silicon stone,
Electric light!
Basilicas from caverns.
Life from burrows of death.
Yes! Time to carve and cast!
Time to let live light.
III
Children wander already
Lost in luxury, lust, listlessness.
Safari fools and explorers—now crippled!
Remember Saint Carlo Acutis
With internet might.
Unhallowed–beware him!
Unshacking freedom,
Casting his electric light!
Casting the light.
Let light of light shine,
Daystar brilliance
East rising glory!
Freedom!
Remember Mary housed Glory within
And ages produced lockstep scholasticades.
Davidic temples are born not built—
Splashed deep to rise.
To dance in depth and colored light.
Let the faithful now rise
With Solomon skill!
Laying down darksome wars.
Stones gathered
These poor cedars spent.
Were they given for idles?
Or given to praise God?
IV
Courage Dear Heart,
Build a Holy space
with their electric light!
A place for priest-prophet-kings,
For families–child and childlike–to pilgrimage.
For the generations–
Like the sand of the seashore
Singing old psalms and new songs.
Find those voiceless wandering hearts
Stumbling through light and dark delights,
Ambling about—un-housed sub-conscious.
Wake up! Look up! And to the mountain climb!
V
See un-entropic light,
Ten billion lives converging,
Storied Gospels sharing,
Stained glass window forming
Easter light from life to life.
Together
All eyes raised
Even those unstudied.
Naked to voice and letter and unspoken word.
Not wandering past canvas candlelit
Or shuffling pages blotched or stone scratched
Not some hazy truth unbid.
Let all delight in truth laid plain–
Re-sorted, uncobbled, enshrined.
Cataract eyes of lineal logic
Clear fog with sorted senses.
Ears ring clean in ecological literacy.
Tactile touch grounded and healed.
Faculties balanced
Habits healthy
To perceive Easter’s progress
And new work of the people
emerging.
